Ramayana Advance Booking Crosses ₹17 Crore: What the Numbers Reveal Before Release

November 1, 2026

There is a point in every big film’s pre-release run when the conversation shifts from posters and trailers to ticket counters. For Ramayana: Part One, that moment has arrived. The latest widely reported India snapshot put opening-day advance gross at ₹17.08 crore, while the figure excluding blocked seats stood at ₹14.23 crore.

Those numbers are encouraging, but the detail behind them is more interesting than the headline. The Indian Express, citing Sacnilk, reported 3.33 lakh tickets sold across 6,780 shows as of the morning of October 30. Hindi screenings accounted for roughly 83% of the India advance gross in that snapshot. Kannada bookings were the next-largest language contribution.

Hindi markets are doing much of the early work

Delhi-NCR was the biggest contributor among the major cities tracked in the report. Bengaluru was close behind and recorded the sharpest day-on-day increase among the five metros included. That matters because the film is not relying on one single market: its opening depends on a broad spread of screens, languages and showtimes.

The regional picture can change quickly as cinemas add shows. A market that looks quieter early in the week may pick up once more screenings become available, so one snapshot should not be treated as a final ranking of audience interest.

Overseas demand is a separate part of the story

NDTV Profit reported that overseas advance sales had crossed $2.5 million by October 30, led by North America. That is a separate measure from the India advance gross. It should not be added to the India figure without checking the currencies, reporting windows and whether the totals include the same categories.

Why blocked seats matter

Some advance-booking reports include seats held back or blocked by cinemas and distributors. Others count only tickets that have been booked by customers. That is why the same film can have two different totals in the same report. The ₹17.08 crore figure includes blocked seats; ₹14.23 crore is the comparable figure excluding them.

Can the pre-sales predict a big opening?

They can show that people are interested enough to book early. They cannot tell us how the film will perform after the first shows. Walk-in sales, occupancy, reviews, repeat viewing and word of mouth will all shape the final opening-day number. The film also needs to turn its scale and familiar story into an experience that audiences want to recommend.

Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, is scheduled to release worldwide on November 5, 2026.
