Jailer 2 is continuing a powerful first-week run. Sacnilk’s Day 6 tracker estimates that the Rajinikanth-led action sequel collected ₹45.55 crore net in India on Tuesday, taking its India net total to ₹287.80 crore. The tracker places its worldwide gross at around ₹541 crore.
These are trade estimates, not audited final figures, and totals can differ between trackers. The numbers nevertheless indicate that the sequel has started at a scale few releases can match.
Tamil markets remain the biggest driver
The Day 6 estimate attributes ₹31.20 crore net to the Tamil version, followed by ₹8.75 crore from Telugu, ₹5 crore from Hindi and ₹0.60 crore from Kannada. The distribution shows how much the film’s performance is anchored by its core Tamil audience while also benefiting from a wider multilingual release.
Its overseas gross is also significant. Sacnilk estimates a further ₹10 crore from international markets on Day 6, bringing the overseas gross total to about ₹204 crore.
Can the sequel keep its momentum?
Opening-week numbers tell only part of a film’s box-office story. The more revealing test comes after the initial fan rush, when weekday audiences and repeat viewers determine how quickly collections settle. A high first-week total gives a film a strong cushion, but it does not remove the need for sustained occupancy.
Jailer 2 also illustrates the commercial value of a recognisable star and an established franchise. Audiences know the tone they are buying a ticket for, and the sequel can turn that familiarity into a large opening. The long-term result still depends on audience response and how theatres allocate screens in the coming days.
The next milestone
The immediate target is to push the India net total past ₹300 crore, while the worldwide gross approaches the next round-number milestone. Updated figures over the next few days will show whether the film holds steady or begins a more typical post-opening decline.
