Updated November 1, 2026
2027 is already shaping up to be a busy year for Indian cinema. The current release calendar has a mix of large-scale action films, sequels, fantasy projects and star-led dramas. Some titles have a date attached, while others are still being discussed in trade reports or listed with a tentative window. That difference matters: a date appearing on a release calendar is not always the same as a final announcement from the producers.
We have kept the list focused on notable Hindi and pan-Indian theatrical projects, and separated films with a listed date from projects whose schedules remain uncertain. This page will be updated as studios and producers confirm changes.

Love & War: a major January release
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War brings Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together. The currently listed January 21 date would put it among the first major Hindi releases of the year. The combination of Bhansali’s filmmaking style and the three lead actors makes it one of the projects likely to attract substantial attention, although the final marketing campaign will tell us more about its scale and genre.
Naagzilla and the fantasy-comedy space
Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla is listed for February 12. The title and reported genre point towards a fantasy-comedy approach, a space that has found an audience in Hindi cinema when the writing and world-building work together. More details about the story, supporting cast and promotional schedule are still awaited.
Force 3 and Beparwah add action to March
Force 3 is listed for March 19, with John Abraham, Harshvardhan Rane and Tanya Maniktala among the names attached. Beparwah, featuring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari, is listed for March 26. Both dates are close enough that any schedule adjustment could affect the month’s release calendar.
Varanasi: a major pan-Indian event film
SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is among the most closely watched Indian projects currently associated with 2027. Bollywood.com lists April 7, 2027 as its release date. The film’s scale and the director’s track record make it relevant well beyond the Telugu market, though audiences should wait for the production team’s final release communication before treating the date as immovable.
Prabhas has more than one project on the calendar
Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, is one of the most anticipated projects in the actor’s line-up. However, the dates shown by different movie calendars do not match: some list March 2027, while another currently lists October 29, 2027. We are therefore keeping the release date as disputed until the makers provide a definitive update. Fauzi also appears in some 2027 calendars, but its release listings vary, so it is not assigned a confirmed date in this guide.
Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi remains undated
Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh are associated with Maatrubhumi, but the release calendars consulted list it without a firm date. It belongs on the watchlist, not in a dated countdown. We will add it to the calendar once a 2027 release is confirmed by the makers or a reliable trade announcement.
Release dates can change
Indian film schedules are often adjusted around production timelines, post-production, festival weekends and competition. A title can be announced for one date and move later. The table above is a snapshot of the current publicly listed schedule, not a promise that every film will arrive on that exact day.
